SHADOW WARRIOR

Shadow Warrior is made by 3D Realms - the company behind Duke Nukem - and it shares a similar sense of humour. Again, the game appeals to the schoolboy inside your head: in Duke, this naughty naughty little boy was visiting a porno shop. This time he is inside some kind of Jackie Chan movie - lots of swords, kicks, poor English with lame Chinese accent ('you no mess with Lo Wang'), ninja-crap and total lack of comprehensible storyline. Die hard fans of Duke Nukem should try this one. If Duke Nukem was already too gross for you, don't even try.

OVERALL RATING: Recommended ONLY for hardcore Duke fans.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Any Powermac (WARNING: NO 68k VERSION!), 16 megabytes of RAM (32 megabytes strongly recommended), System 7.0, 8-bit 640*400 display. The game shares its engine with that of Duke Nukem, but it has twice as much artwork and is therefore more memory hungry.

CD-ROM: Not necessary.

SCREEN: Resolutions from 640*400 to 1024*768. Pretty playable on 800*600, medium detail, skip odd lines. Brightness adjustment allowed.

SLEEP: When paused.

KEYBOARD/TRACKPAD: Customizable.

BUGS: None detected.

MORE INFO/PURCHASE OPTIONS: Available at Mac Smith.
